The clean and smooth cylindrical pen slides neatly into its sleeve, held in by a magnet once in its final position. The sleeve is a an engraved imperial + metric ruler in a glass bead stainless finish.

You will note a slight popping sound when removing it from its sheath—the effect of high tolerances creating a pneumatic seal, much like a piston.

In 2023, it was added to the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum's permanent collection.
